The definition of intelligence is a controversial process, since the very meaning of this word is quite blurry. Over the years, intelligence has been defined in various ways, including the ability to logic, self-awareness, understand, creativity and the ability to solve problems.
IQ (IQ) is a simple assessment or result obtained from one of many standardized tests designed to measure human intelligence. Over the past millennium, humanity has been trying to find a way to determine its own intelligence, and only in the XX century we received a more or less “sane” tool - the IQ test, developed by Alfred Binet. However, due to the measurement of intelligence by a set of tests, the method received a number of disapproving reviews.
In one of his books, paleontologist scientist Stefan Jay Gould criticized the IQ test, calling it a method of conducting scientific racism. This gives reason to call IQ one of the parameters for measuring intelligence, which can both be useful in itself and be completely useless. Nevertheless, while no one has come up with a better way to define “human reason”, we represent 13 people whose IQ level is considered the highest in the world.

IQ - 190
Many are ready to hand Christopher the title of “America’s Most Intelligent Man,” others go even further, calling him “the greatest wise guy in the world.” The childhood of Christopher Langan was different from the period of growing up of an ordinary child. In recent years, Christopher studied independently at school, conducting independent studies, as well as an advanced course in mathematics, philosophy, physics, Latin and Greek (this is much more complicated than the average school curriculum).
While studying at the university, he was faced with a categorical lack of funds, which forced him to quit studying. In addition, Langan believed that on his own he would comprehend more than university professors would give him. William James Sides
IQ - 250-300
William James Sides is an example of a child prodigy combining exceptional mathematical and linguistic abilities. When William was only 11 years old, he entered Harvard to study mathematics, becoming the youngest university student in his history. Unfortunately, most of his life was overshadowed by problems with the law. Saydis was a staunch supporter of socialism, often participating in anti-government rallies. He was later arrested for participating in a May Day parade.
Freed from arrest in 1921, William left the study of mathematics, starting the life of an “ordinary” person. He died at the age of 44 from a cerebral hemorrhage, which was most likely hereditary (the prodigy's father also passed away for this reason). It is believed that Saydis was the owner of the highest IQ, however, there is no way to verify this statement, since there are no records confirming its performance.
